Definite
Emergence
As this new bubble of confused
consciousness
Begins its languid, laboured
inflation,
All awareness is slowly
distorted,
Recognitions are twisted out of
shape.
The self, stretched numbly around the bubble’s
membrane,
Like a flayed hide
Strung helplessly between the past and a reluctant
future,
Observes the world askew.
Amid the tropical heat of
expectation,
And a silence of strained
anticipation,
An insane chaos reigns
supreme
Within this realm of feverish
cognisance.
I predict a bursting point, a
climax,
But the leaden expansion
continues,
Drawing out my failing
rationale
With this trial of patience, hope and
sanity.
Within this lingering state of suspended
animation,
I wrest forth the sweat of a thousand
years
And slowly drown in its restrictive
viscosity,
Witnessing the adjournment of
inspiration.
Ideas evaporate like days of the
year,
Arising as whispers, bright and
true,
Then disappearing, like ephemeral ocean
waves
Unable to bear fruit in this parched
impotence.
My fears ebb and flow in this tide of disintegrating
hope.
A water torture for the mind of
optimism.
I expand towards my own emotional
solstice,
That longest of days, where reason eclipses
passion.
In an orgasm of experience, the bubble
bursts
As this reality climaxes towards a new
infinity.
Consciousness ejaculates into a fresh
existence
Through the tight funnel of now
ness.
Catapulted free from my protracted
moment,
I free-fall into a cool pool of
calm.
And contemplate my growth in bewildered
numbness
As this definite emergence
completes.

Sweet
Deceiver
Captivated
By the ardent promise,
Of hot,
Rapturous embrace.
I bleed
My energy
Into the folly
Of desire.
Sowing
The seeds of craving,
As scattered aspects
Of myself.
I reap
The blossom
Of frustration-
The hollow harvest.
For though
The ruby rose
Whispers
To us of desire,
Where
Amongst the velvet petals,
Is satisfaction
To be found? |

Vajra Skies
Eternal, luminous, invisible
sun,
Immutable, prophecy fulfilling
diamond,
Quietly abiding in precious
perfection.
Your rays pervading the treacle of countless
heavens,
Penetrating the pitch of infinite
voids,
Silently prevailing with a brilliant
patience.
You pay vigil to the dim stars, alone in their
confusion,
Innocently unaware of their potential
brilliance,
Bound within the vacuum of self imposed
isolation.
They scurry now behind twilight
clouds,
And remain within the infernal labyrinths of
striving,
Oblivious to the omnipresence of your diamond
radiance.
Yet unknowingly blessed by empyreal
whispers,
Softly illuminated by your vajra
presence,
The finders find with dreamlike
warmth.
To become kindling beneath the heat of your vajra
skies.
With their tinder ignited by smouldering
compassion,
Dormant, dreaming quasars slowly glow with
acceptance.
Eternal, luminous, invisible
sun,
Evaporating the foggy chill of
unknowing,
Dispersing the iron-grey clouds of
illusion.
Overcoming the dreary dictates of the
planets,
The ten directions whisper hope to receptive
ones,
Their supernovas blaze within the sublime bliss of
becoming. |

Is
This Love?
‘Is this love; the many splendid
thing,’
‘Our hearts are open wide?
Adorned with red bouquets and diamond
rings.’
Said the lover to his
bride.
‘Or is love the bleeding of my
heart,
Upon witnessing your pain?
Is love the way my tears of sorrow
start,
When sprays and diamonds are in
vane?’
‘Please’ he said, ‘my sweetest
good,
Don’t think that I don’t
care,
For my bleeding heart knows the knotted
wood,
Of the cross you have to
bear.’

Kite
Aloft in bright blue space
I float alone with the sun on my
face.
Warm wind surrounds me
Carrying me high.
Filling me with a freedom
Which can’t be expressed.
I can watch the whole world from up
here:
All that earth so far
below,
And only the finest of
threads
To bind me to it.

Along For the Ride
Holding hands, we cling onto love’s broad
shoulders
As it soars through the sky of our
minds.
We place our trembling arms around love’s firm
waist
As we wade through deep, dark valleys
Where sombre mists cloud our
eyes.
Love’s guiding light restores our
sight.
It shines upon our path and shields our fragile
hearts.
Exalting us, love lifts us from the
darkness
And casts us amongst the
stars.
Through the ethereal heavens it leads
us,
Trailing silver stardust and cooling
vapours
In it’s fragrant wake.
At bright mountain peaks, love pauses beside
us
Rejoicing in our child-like
delight.
Like children we curl up in love’s warm
embrace
And are rewarded by it’s boundless generosity.
We claim love as our own,
But it quietly smiles at us with tender
eyes.
Love whispers to us of our own
divinity
And gently points the way
This love is wiser than the both of
us.
We think we understand love’s
ways,
But we are just along for the
ride. |

Jasmine Fire
Jasmine fire, sweet, cold
burner.
You are the fleeting, sugar
kiss
Lingering on the bright face of
death.
Flower fresh,
You are
everything! |
